A proposed reservoir in the Fens

Suppliers

Introduction

This page provides information for new and existing suppliers for the proposed reservoir in the Fens. It outlines how we will engage with the market and share opportunities, and how potential suppliers can register their interest.

Working with the market

We are committed to engaging openly, transparently and fairly with the supply chain as our programme for the proposed reservoir in the Fens develops.

Our market engagement activities are designed to:

  • Provide early visibility of potential future opportunities.
  • Gather market feedback to help inform procurement, commercial and delivery strategies.
  • Support innovation and the adoption of best practice.
  • Encourage collaboration across the supply chain.
  • Help suppliers understand the project and prepare for potential future procurement activities.

We recognise the importance of developing a competitive, capable and diverse supply chain to support the successful delivery of this nationally significant infrastructure programme.

Supply chain opportunities

We welcome engagement with organisations across all levels of the supply chain and are keen to understand how suppliers can contribute to the delivery of the project.

While we currently anticipate that the main works construction packages may be delivered through Tier 1 contractors, joint ventures or consortia, we recognise the important role that manufacturers, specialist contractors, SMEs and local businesses play across the wider supply chain.

We are particularly interested in understanding the capability, capacity and experience available within the market, including opportunities to support local and regional supply chain participation.

Where appropriate and subject to relevant confidentiality, data protection and consent requirements, information provided by suppliers through the market engagement may be used to help inform supply chain development and engagement with organisations appointed to deliver future works.

Further project information will be made available through this web page and, where appropriate, through the project data room. Access to information within the data room will be subject to relevant confidentiality and access requirements.

Market engagement

How do we plan to engage with suppliers?

We are undertaking a structured programme of market engagement to help inform the development of our procurement, commercial and delivery strategies.

This includes:

  • In person and virtual market engagement events.
  • Market Sounding Questionnaires (MSQs).
  • Supplier briefings.
  • One-to-one bilateral market engagement meetings.
  • Industry roundtables and workshops.
  • Ongoing supplier feedback and market intelligence gathering.

The feedback received through these activities will help us understand market capability, capacity, supply chain considerations, innovation opportunities, potentially inform delivery models and other factors that may influence the development of the project.

What suppliers can expect from our engagement

We intend to engage with the supply chain under the following principles:

  • Engage with suppliers in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Avoid giving any supplier an unfair advantage.
  • Protect commercially sensitive information.
  • Provide information through appropriate channels.
  • Consider market feedback but retain discretion over procurement and delivery strategies.

We will continue to engage with the market as the project develops and will provide further information in due course through the appropriate channels.

Stay Informed

We encourage suppliers interested in the Fens Reservoir project to register their interest.

Registered suppliers may be invited to participate in future market engagement activities aligned to the stage of the project and the relevance of an organisation’s expertise to support project development. Where appropriate, access to the project data room will be granted to enable interested suppliers to keep up to date on relevant project information, subject to completion of relevant due diligence.

Please note that participation in market engagement activities, registration of interest or access to the project data room does not constitute an invitation to tender, an offer to enter into contract, or a commitment by Anglian Water to proceed with any particular procurement, commercial or delivery approach.

Any future procurement opportunities will be communicated through the appropriate formal procurement channels and will be subject to applicable procurement requirements.
