Phase one consultation

Our phase one consultation took place from 12 October until 21 December 2022.

During our consultation, we worked closely with the public and other stakeholders to discuss our early proposals, answer questions and encourage their feedback. We held a series of consultation events in the local area, as well as webinars, all of which were well attended.

During our phase one consultation, we asked people for feedback on:

  • the pink area we’d identified for the reservoir and its embankments
  • the grey area we’d identified for supporting infrastructure and during construction. This is also where we could include wildlife and environmental areas, spaces for leisure and recreation, education facilities and others
  • the very early concept design for the reservoir and the features you would like to be considered in the design of the reservoir as it’s developed (see here)

We received valuable feedback from the local community and other stakeholders, which has helped inform our latest plans. A breakdown of how your feedback has influenced our latest proposals can be found here.

Where we are now

Since our phase one consultation, we’ve been working hard to develop our proposals for the reservoir, and for getting water to the reservoir, and from the reservoir to homes and businesses.

Our phase two consultation is now open, and we want to hear your views on our latest proposals.
